We counted our blessings with every bite while enjoying this delicious Apple Crisp. We used apples right off the Eddy Street apple trees and topped the warm Apple Crisp with our favorite ice cream and a swirl of caramel.
Plus, it smells better than any fall candle on the shelf. Not only does it make your house homey, but it makes your tummy homey, too.
Ingredients:
Pie Filling:
2 lbs apples (peeled and cut into pieces
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Topping:
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oatmeal (we used Quick Quaker Oats)
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 box yellow cake mix
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°.
Peel and slice apples. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together.
Mix apples with cinnamon/sugar mixture and place in 9x13 pan.
Mix topping ingredients and cover apples.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes, then remove from oven.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel.
