Well it looks like winter is finally arriving in Northern Nevada this week after pretty much having spring like temperatures last week. I don’t know about you but anytime it snows, it feels like Christmas. I’m half tempted to pull out my Christmas décor and put it back up. January and February can be challenging months to decorate for. In January, I typically pack up all of my vibrant reds and greens to get ready for February décor which is usually a mix of whites and some romantic pastels. I keep some cozy winter décor up (yes, my Christmas trees are still up because I love the twinkle lights), snowy wreaths also stay up because it is winter after all.
One spot I definitely change in January is my room. Re-arranging furniture and switching out bedding is how I “clean.” This time I decided to do a whole room swap-a-roo. I found an antique bed that was the beginning of the process. From there it was a bedding update, switching positions of a desk and cabinet and a new (to me) mirror that has a French like feel.
When you’ve redecorated a space, there is a fresh energy that comes with it! It also gives you the opportunity to re-evaluate the pieces you have to determine if you love it or it’s time for a switch up.
I’m loving how our room re-do turned out. It’s still cozy for winter but hints of pink remind me that a new season is just around the corner. Pearl thinks it’s pretty cozy too! She’s the queen of cozy and she’s ready to jump in!
What are your favorite ways to stay cozy and decorate for the winter season?
